Coal’s non-power generation uses include steel production, cement manufacturing, and chemical feedstocks for industrial applications. The ERC is working with mining companies, power generation companies and other entities on topics related to coal cleaning, and repurposing of coal feedstocks for critical materials recovery and production of sorbents and electrodes.
