Frank J. Pazzaglia is a Professor in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Lehigh University. His research examines the evolution of landscapes over geologic timescales, with an emphasis on how tectonic activity, climate processes, and sedimentary systems interact to shape Earth’s surface. He integrates field studies, geomorphic analysis, thermochronology, stratigraphy, and numerical modeling, with active projects in the Appalachians, Rockies, Apennines, and central Asia.

Pazzaglia’s recent work includes collaborations in shallow geothermal energy and enhanced mineral weathering for carbon capture. At Lehigh, he teaches courses in geomorphology, surface processes, field methods, and the geology of war.
